Interview: Priya Nahar, Founder of Yash Learning Centre and Differently Abled Social Entrepreneur

About Priya Nahar

Priya was born as a normal child and got an severe attack of Polio at the age of 6 years. It made her completely paralysed for 2 years.

Because of physical limitations she couldn’t go outside. She decided to do career in academics. Priya started her career of coaching in small room. More than 2000 students have been passed out from Yash Learning Centre

This is the interview of Priya Nahar (Priyadarshini Nahar), Woman Entrepreneur and and founder of Yash Classes, a successful learning center.

She is a founder of OPAL FOUNDATION FOR BETTER FUTURE, learning center for physically and visually challenged students to pass competitive exam.

Tell us a little about yourself

Priya Nahar: I have completed my Masters in Commerce. I have started my coaching profession in 1995 with 3 students.

Almost more than 25 sparkling years I am in this field . Having my own Institute with bunch of highly qualified teachers. More than 2000 students have been passed out.

I am single and staying happily with parents and siblings. I am the elder one among 3 . Younger sister is married and stays in Pune having a son who stays in Germany.

Brother is youngest and successful businessman in clothing manufacturing. He is having 2 sons.

How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Priya Nahar: I was born as a normal child. But at the age of 6 years got an severe attack of Polio. It made me completely paralysed for 2 years.

But by God grace and innumerable efforts of my parents I started walking. They gave me best education inspite of so many hardships.

In this way I completed my academics. Unexpectedly some situations occurred because of which i have to start my earnings, but because of physical limitations I couldn’t go outside.

Luckily I was bright student in my school and college Decided to do career in academics and in this way started my career of coaching in small room.

What service(s) or product(s) do you offer?

Priya Nahar: At Yash Classes, we deal with CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE Bards for MATHS, PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY and BIOLOGY, from 5th to 12th std students.

What is unique about your business?

Priya Nahar: We deal with limited number of students so we can focus personally on each of them and can find their hidden qualities for which we support to flourish at certain extent.

We also invite some behavioural analysis’s for them. We focus more on practical knowledge that could help them to lead ahead.

What made you choose this type of business?

Priya Nahar: TEACHING CREATES ALL PROFESSIONS. As I said above my physical limitations is the main reason. I am passionate about teaching. It gives me immense satisfaction and happiness.

What was your mission at the outset?

Priya Nahar: Try to make more perfect to myself and then I can make my students. After so many years lot of my students are on higher position in their jobs or businesses. Really feel proud.This whole credit would like to give my staff.

How many employees in your organization?

Priya Nahar: We are total 15 persons in organization.

What’s your organization’s goals?

Priya Nahar: To give best quality education to each and every student. Help them and their parents to fulfil their dream.

How do you build a successful base?

Priya Nahar: QUALITY WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. Creating healthy atmosphere to colleagues and students. Be available for students when they face any problem in studies. Develop their logical thinking and make them problem solver.

What have been some of your failures, and what have you learned from them?

Priya Nahar: Failure term varies from person to person. If we try for anything and if it won’t happen we can learn a lot from it . So its not failure.

Who has been your greatest inspiration?

Priya Nahar: We should inspire by ourselves to be more success or perfection. My FAMILY is always there to encourage me and colleagues as well.

What are some of the biggest mistakes you’ve made?

Priya Nahar: Not really but when you are trying to explore anything some mistakes happens. But its OK.

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Priya Nahar: BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS CAN NOT BE BARRIER.

Does your organization help the community or society?

Priya Nahar: I am physically challenged but completely independent person. This is because of my family like my backbone.

So I want to do such kind of good work and become backbone of specially abled person, In 2017 I have registered my NGO called OPAL FOUNDATION FOR BETTER FUTURE.

Here we train physically and visually challenged students to pass competitive exam. Though I am single I can say that I am mother of such 20 kids.

They all got Government jobs and become independent and become backbone of their family. With the help of some fitness friends we have started gym and yoga for disabled
